Song and Thought of the Day #01

Draft Morning (The Byrds)

It’s a pleasant sunday morning here where I live. There isn’t the slightest breath of air, the sky is bright blue without a single cloud, and the damn mosquitoes are still here feasting on my blood. However, just like the song I’ve posted, it’s more like a calm before the storm kind of thing.

Although the meaning of this track is way deeper compared to what I mean, I still want to spend a couple lines about this matter which may sound trite at first, but it’s actually quite scary.

It’s the 4th of October and we have 25°C (77°F) here. A few years ago a weather like this was simply unthinkable: October was the month of wind, storms and lightnings. This last decade however, September was a mere August in diguise and October was the real September.

Now, the least I want in this blog are conspiracy theories, therefore I won’t talk about climate change, ozone layer, who’s fault is it and all that alarming stuff. I do however want to point out a simple thing…

Why in the everloving fuck I am the one who must suffer about this? Just because a few governments and industries are more interested in short term economical benefits instead of long term global well being, I am the one who pays for it by becoming all one with my blankets at night, smelling like a concoction of corpses and encrusted smegma in the day and finally being the target of insects which should be fertilizer at this point of the year.

Of course, it’s way more serious than this, but still. Sweating in Autumn should be forbidden by the law.
